Investment Philosophy
1) Clearly identify your goals.
What are you saving for, how much money do you need and when do you need it? Many people skip this most important first step. If you don't even know what track you are on, how do you know if you are on the wrong track? Fenway Financial can help you to identify your goals in clear financial terms and provide you with a plan to monitor your progress toward achieving those goals.
2) Make every effort to minimize taxes and investment expenses.
The most powerful force in investing is compound interest. Even a small amount unnecessarily spent on taxes and fees each year can potentially cost you hundreds of thousands or, for a larger portfolio, literally millions of dollars over a reasonable investment horizon. We have designed our fees to deliver industry-leading value. Our competition continues to measure their success in "return on assets" (that's their return on your assets). While we are reasonably compensated for our services, we believe that your assets should be working for you, not for us.
3) Have a long-term investment policy and stick to it.
Investors often get caught up in the current hot investment and the hype that invariably goes with it. While there are never any guarantees in the investment world and past performance certainly is not an indicator of future results, the world's most successful investors have disciplined long-term principles that guide them through the daily jumble of world events that affect the value of all investments. We work with you to develop a personalized investment policy that is consistent with your beliefs and appropriate for achieving your individual goals.
4) Provide world-class unbiased advice.
At Fenway Financial Advisors, we never accept outside fees or commissions for the sale of a particular investment product. Our goal is always to provide only the most suitable advice for you and your family. There are many successful investment strategies that do not involve the buying or selling of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and insurance, but most of the investment world has little or no incentive to recommend these strategies. Because Fenway Financial Advisors is compensated to give advice, not to sell products, we are happy to recommend strategies that include alternatives to traditional financial products when appropriate.
